Rules of Engagement

I am planning “My Life as an Avatar” Part II starting January 1st, 2011 and I would love your help.

I am  going to be transforming into Gracie over several months and would like to ask for the public’s collaboration in this second phase of the project. This project will include every aspect of my life. I am almost 38 years old, just graduated with my MA and this will be life changing.

I am going to be setting up a list of rules that I HAVE to follow starting on January 1st, 2011.

Yes it’s cliche. New Year’s resolutions and all that… but I think that is perfect. It speaks of the resolutions that we all plan and forget. Well I am not going to forget this.

I am asking for your help in setting up the rules that I will follow for part II of transforming into my avatar Gracie Kendal. This also includes how to document this transformation. Video, the blog here, etc. How often I should post too.

(Please keep in mind, I am a starving artist, so money definitely has to be considered.)

Rules may/will include:

1. Dating

2. excercise

3. eating

4. Art

5. other activities

6.budgeting, saving money and bills

7. and any thing else you can think of.

This is the first post about this new phase of my project. It’s in the very beginning stages, but I would love to hear your thoughts. It can be anything from ways of exercising, time frames, types of food to try, places to go, people to see, etc.

I will be editing the rules based on money and time constraints, etc. But I will definitely keep each and every suggestion in mind.

Thank you all very much for your support.

  1. When I read this the 1st thing that came to mind about becoming Gracie was dealing with crashes (after last night).
What is the R/L counterpart to S/L crashes – narcolepsy?

  2. What I found helps me the most is to have some rituals about the things that I decide really matters. And those rituals can be changed, so I don’t get stuck in a rut.
